Wednesday, 12th of March

In today's lesson we were required to deliver the completed project to our Information Technology teacher. Nevertheless, I was not capable of completing the entire project until this moment, for today I also experienced a technical difficulty in Promotional CD document, which was that apparently the last page of my document (that incorporated the video and several pictures relating to the theme) was deleted. With this problem in consideration, I delayed the progress of my evaluation section, and will therefore need to hand this is following to the Easter break. For these reasons, today I did not work very thoroughly. Since this is the Technology lesson, I must say that I enjoyed both projects, being that both considered quite different ideas, however relating in the area of the merchangiszig of the product.

However unfortunate, regading that today would be one of the last lessons for the completion of the Promotional CD Project, and would be a very benefitial lesson, today Senior School had an activity day - which meant that we were not capable of attending our second last Information Technology lesson. This signifies that more work will be required to do at home (which be a hard process, considering the amount of homework set for this week), as well very rapid work to be done in school on Wednesday.

As a matter of fact, today's lesson was extremely productive, because I was able to figure out various technical aspects regarding my Promotional CD, which I had not yet considered. This was done together with a colleague that was present in this class, who faced similar issues when concerning the running of the slides in movie form. In today's lesson I was able to incorporate a video, removed from YOUTUBE, comprising the song "We Are The World", featuring Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. In included this video successfully in the last page of my Promotional CD, that has the theme of how the Olympic Games may unite the many nations. From my perception I worked very well today, for I tried to solve some dilemmas that I had been facing previously, and with many trials, was finally able to achieve my intended results. Unfortunately, I have not been yet capable of commencing my evaluation, particularly for the fact that I had not yet completed my Promotional CD (and will not be able to). Thus, my aim for next lesson (Wednesday - for Monday is a Senior School Activity Day), is to complete my evaluation by working dilligently and thoroughly. Today my teacher was not capable of being present in class, for my teacher was required for professional matters, therefore, on Wednesday I will have my last oppurtinity to consult her for further improvements on my project, as well as extra suggestions.

Unfortunately, today's lesson was not very productive, since I faced a series of complications regarding the technical aspects of the promotional CD. Since the due date of the project is coming up soon, the fact that even the base my promotional CD is not entirely completed is beggining to become a worrying fact. Individually (not in class period), it will be of utmost necessity that I make a well-on advance on the project because, moreover, I have the evaluation section for completion. Nonetheless, on the positive side, a classmate of mine, which is very familiar with the programs being used, volunteered to get me a free 30-day trial version of Macromedia Flash that I may download at home. I use this oppurtinity to thank his act of kindness. Next lesson, I must try to face problems more rationally, so that I do not waste time unnecissariyl. Despite all the problems that I encountered today, I believe that I was fully concentrated in my task, not once talking to a classmate concerning personal or social matters.

With another lesson comes another advance on my Olympic Games Promotional CD. Today, I researched about all the aspects that I am going to talk about on the various slides. I also worked on applying several propaganda techniques to my promotion. Examples of these are:

• Bandwagon (convincing people that your side is the winning side by the number of people on your side)
• Glittering Generalities (applying the conjunction of various powerful words, persuading people emotionally)
• Testimonial (connecting a/more respected figures to an item or cause)

Today I also worked on making my promotional CD have a professional appearance, also so that people are convinced when going through it.

From my point of view, I worked well today and am going to be able to make a good job on this project.

Today I investigated the different possibilities and techniques comprised in Macromedia Flash, also managing to thoroughly work on my project, and advancing with the promotional CD. What I also did today was to state, descriptively, the various things that I am going to include in each page (with different themes all related to the Olympic Games). In my opinion I worked well today, for I was concentrated and worked efficiently, with the purpose of advancing on my project. My goal for next lesson is to work futher on the actual promotional CD.

In today's lesson, a couple of colleagues and I happened to be late for we had a Confirmation (religious) session, and lost track of time. Once I got to class (and apologized to my teacher), I began to work on my create section in Macromedia Flash. I also began to incorporate other computing tehniques into my Promotional CD, that I hitherto was not aware of. Nevertheless, due to some technical problems that arouse in the teacher's assembly presentation that isgoing to be presented on the following day, my colleague and I volunteered to help and for the continuation of the class were workin gon this project. For next lesson, my aim is to prepare every section of my Olympic Games Promotional CD, actually previous to transfering it to Macromedia Flash. This will be done with the purpose of utilizing the time more effectively. For next lesson, my aim is to work well and be concentrated.

As a matter of fact, in today's lesson I started to work on my create section (producing my promotional CD). Actually, this lesson was very productive, however I did not manage the completion of a lot of work. My aim for next lesson is to get a vaster amount of work completed, at the same time doing it professionally with the appearance of a profesional promotional CD.

Today's lesson was very productive. The first section of this lesson coincided with a Senior School Assembly, thus not utilizing part of the time. As well as, when the lesson actually started, a member of our class, that has experienced working with Macromedia flash, showed the class some of the basics when working with this program. For these reasons, I did not have a lot of time to work on my individual project. Nevertheless, at the end of the class I managed to work rapidly so as to obtain the furthest amount of the Plan section completed. Due to the lack of time, I was not able to complete this portion of the project, however working effectively in the time available. For next lesson, my aim is to accomplish the completion of the entire plan section and commence the Create section, in which the actual copy of the promotional CD is done.

In today's lesson we were meant to complete the design cycle of our project, which will lead to the completion of the plan section that is followed by the create section (where we are enabled of creating our themed promotional CD). In the previous message you will be able to see the three design possibilities for the introduction screen of my promotional CD. From my perspective, I worked effectively today, as I was fully concentrated in my work (due also to the fact that I had not still completed the design and beared in mind that I was required to complete it at the moment).

Due to the fact that today my teacher delivered my draft Investigation back, with sugestions for imrpovement, throughout the holidays I will be working on it so as to finally complete with full capacity. I will provide an information income to the blog when this work is effectuated.

KITTEN PROBLEM: What advertising method should we utilize?

There are 3 white kittens that have to be given away. How should they be advertised?

From my point of view, thee kittens should be advertised via flyers, posters, or via the internet by sending an advertisement to random people's blogs. This cause should be advertised like so, for the fact that this cause is more personal as opposed to a big official campaign such as the Coca Cola Comapny. Flyers and posters would be quite useful since they would display an image of the three kittens (catching people's attention) and inform the people about what is meant with the advertisement. These could be delivered around the neighbourhood, and it would therefore interest the people more since it would be relatively easy to obtain them, and not a complication such as going out of town. This printed advertising method would be useful for this because this theme can be applied in many forms, being that it is easily advertised (for the factor of being considered "cute").

Today's lesson involved the continuation of the design and plan section, since these two sections are due next lesson. I deeply resent the fact that I was not very concentrated today, thus not accomplishing the completion of a great amount of work. I will, for this reason, be required to work at home.

In today's lesson, I was able to complete most of the design section, however necessitating work at home to complete it so as to give it in on time. The due date for this section (design), as well as for the plan, is next week, just before the carnival holidays. Generally, I worked relatively well today, since I was always concentrated on my work. I, therefore, managed to complete a fairly big amount of work. Also for the fact that I am working on a quite entertaining section (design), that allows one to be creative, original and to work even more diligently, I was able to get extremely focused on the work.

Today, I was able to commence the design section of my promotional CD project about the advertisement of the Olympic Games. The first section of the design cycle consists of producing a brainstorm on Microsoft Visio 2007, and making three different plans, for further choosing. In this lesson, I was able to produce a relatively sufficient amount of work, nevertheless not completing as much as I planned. For next lesson, my aim is to be capable of producing vast amounts of work with quality. My wish for this project is that I effectively make the appropriate decisions and am able to create an entertaining, fun, eye-catching, informative and near-professional promotional CD.

In this lesson, I managed to complete the first draft of the investigate section, and handed it in for Ms. Dietrich to correct it. I worked effectively this class, and believe to have successfully produced a thorough investigation. Next class, my aim is to be fully concentrated on the design section and be able to effectively work out the design of my promotional cd.

Today, we worked on the investigate section of teh Promotional CD project. As a matter of fact, the due date for the draft of the investigation is next lesson (wednesday, 14th) and, unfortunately, I wasn't yet able to finally complete any point of the investigation, however having worked at all. I plan to complete all four points of the investigation Tuesday afternoon, whilst making corrections and adding any extra information on the double lesson period Wednesday morning. Actually, the reason for which a large amount of work wasn't possible to complete was also because I am sick for around a week, preventing me from fully concentrating for a long period of time. My aim for the completion of the investigate section is to be capable of total concentration and processing my thoughts deeply and thoroughly. My focus on the promotional CD is the coming Olympic Games (2008), as well as the past ones and the history of the games. My promotional CD will also consist of why the Olympic games are extremely important for society, and how cultural interaction is benefitial for many.

Today, we started working on the investigate section, as the issue involving the computers was already fixed. I was able to organize all my work, completing the gantt chart (with the plan for the process of completing this project) and research quite a lot for the points of my investigation. Unfortunately, my work today was not very fast.

As a matter of fact, today's double period was not very successful. In the morning, an electrical problem occured, stricking about 2/3 of the computers in the Technology room. Most of the people were unable to produce any work, such as me. At the end of the second period, several people moved to room 10, where we were able to get some work done. Nevertheless, after about 20 minutes the room was required to be emptied because electricians had come to solve the problem. The new project that was proposed to us was about a promotional cd, promoting a cause. However, as no work was possible to be done today, we were not able to get 100% familiar with the entire project. I sincerely hope that next lesson we are able to get some work done and that the computers are already fixed. I also hope that I am able to properly concetrate and understand the assignment well, therefore also being able to complete it in a short period of time.
